TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website www.selfpayhealth.co.uk ("Website") and the services provided through it ("Services"). The Website is owned and operated by Self-Pay Health Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16594421, with its registered office at Unit 2.02 High Weald House, Glovers End, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 5ES.
By accessing and using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Website. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
About Self-Pay Health
Self-Pay Health is a healthcare marketplace that helps patients find, compare, and access private medical providers in the UK on a self-pay basis. We do not provide medical treatment ourselves. Treatment is always provided by independent healthcare providers.
How Our Service Works
Depending on the provider and the type of care, our Services work in one of two ways. The Website will make clear which applies to you before you proceed.
(a) Referral / introduction
In some cases, we simply introduce you to a healthcare provider. You then contract directly with that provider, and you pay the provider directly. Any agreement for treatment, and any payment, cancellation, and refund arrangements, are between you and the provider under the provider's own terms. Our role ends once we have made the introduction.
(b) Booking and payment through Self-Pay Health
In other cases, you can book and pay for care through the Website. Where you do, payment is processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. The treatment itself is still provided by the independent healthcare provider.
Bookings, Payment, Cancellations and Refunds
This section applies where you book and pay for care through the Website (model (b) above). Where we only introduce you to a provider (model (a)), the provider's own terms on payment, cancellation, and refunds apply, not this section.
Healthcare Providers
Healthcare providers listed on the Website are independent. They are not employees or agents of Self-Pay Health, and (except where expressly stated for a booking made through the Website) we are not a party to the contract for your treatment.
We do not provide medical services and we do not guarantee the quality, outcome, or suitability of any treatment provided by a healthcare provider. You are responsible for choosing your provider and for satisfying yourself that the provider and treatment are suitable for you. Providers are responsible for the care they deliver, for their own regulatory obligations, and for their own registration with the Care Quality Commission or equivalent regulator where applicable.
Healthcare Information and Disclaimer
The information on the Website, including any AI assistant or symptom guidance, is provided for general information only and does not constitute medical advice. It should not be relied on as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional about any medical condition or treatment.
We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the Website accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is complete or error-free. Provider details, availability, and prices may change.
Use of the Website
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use of the Website by, anyone else. You must not:
Use the Website in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent
Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful material
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website or any server, computer, or database connected to it
Attack the Website by means of a denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attack
Intellectual Property
The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the Website and its content are owned by or licensed to Self-Pay Health Ltd and are protected by the laws of England and Wales and international treaties. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Website and its content for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to the extent necessary to use the Services.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, republish, or otherwise exploit any part of the Website or its content without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The Website may link to third-party websites, including those of healthcare providers. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of those sites, and a link does not imply our endorsement. You access third-party websites at your own risk and are responsible for your own judgement in using them.
Privacy and Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy, available at www.selfpayhealth.co.uk/privacy-policy, explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, and our Cookie Policy explains our use of cookies. Where you are introduced to or book with a provider, that provider handles your information as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy.
Our Liability to You
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; any breach of the statutory rights given to you as a consumer; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for the acts, omissions, treatment, or advice of any healthcare provider, which are the responsibility of that provider
We are not liable for loss or damage arising from information on the Website that is intended for general information only
We are not liable for business losses — the Website is intended for personal use, and we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Website and update the date below. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect. Changes do not apply retrospectively to a booking you have already made.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in another part of the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, as your consumer rights allow.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
Complaints and Contact
If you have a question or complaint, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it. Where your care was provided by an independent provider, complaints about the treatment itself should also be raised with that provider.
